We cover color as well as backdrop images you can download. <strong>Instead of buying or making yourself<\/strong> a proper environment and setting everything up &#8211; you can just use an image for this. In Daz Studio there is a backdrop function that allows to do exactly that. They can be found in the Environment tab. By default it <strong>should be already open <\/strong>and<strong> <\/strong>docked next to the Scene tab.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"468\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image7.jpg\" alt=\"daz environment tab\" class=\"wp-image-3996\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image7.jpg 468w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image7-300x271.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can\u2019t find it there &#8211; no worries. As any other tab in Daz Studio &#8211; it can be<strong> easily opened<\/strong> if you go to the topbar \u201c<em>Window &gt; Panes (Tabs)<\/em>\u201d and find \u201c<em>Environment<\/em>\u201d there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"395\" height=\"1022\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image2.png\" alt=\"daz3d environment pane\" class=\"wp-image-3997\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image2.png 395w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image2-116x300.png 116w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image2-300x776.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 395px) 100vw, 395px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It is <strong>important not to mix up<\/strong> the Environment tab that we need and the \u201c<em>Environment<\/em>\u201d section of the Render Settings tab, as they are totally different things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"510\" height=\"807\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3.jpg\" alt=\"daz studio render settings environment\" class=\"wp-image-3998\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3.jpg 510w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-190x300.jpg 190w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-300x475.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Environment tab there is only one available \u201c<em>Type<\/em>\u201d setting that is set to \u201c<em>None<\/em>\u201d by default. And you can <strong>change it to the \u201c<\/strong><strong><em>backdrop<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong> to create one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"385\" height=\"265\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4.png\" alt=\"daz backdrop settings\" class=\"wp-image-3999\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4.png 385w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-300x206.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 385px) 100vw, 385px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After doing this you will right away see that<strong> more options appea<\/strong>r in the Environment tab and that in the Viewport a white <strong>backdrop appeared<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"795\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10-1280x795.png\" alt=\"daz3d backdrop\" class=\"wp-image-4000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10-1280x795.png 1280w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10-300x186.png 300w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10-768x477.png 768w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10-850x528.png 850w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image10.png 1408w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the new appeared settings you can <strong>change the backdrop settings<\/strong>. Stuff like rotating it, for example. Though you can\u2019t see rotations right now as it is just a single color. Also you can change so it would not be seen in render or <strong>change its color<\/strong> from white to something different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"792\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image13-1280x792.png\" alt=\"daz studio backdrop color\" class=\"wp-image-4001\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image13-1280x792.png 1280w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image13-300x186.png 300w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image13-768x475.png 768w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image13-850x526.png 850w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image13.png 1410w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, if you open <strong>additional settings <\/strong>on the corner of the tab &#8211; you can \u201c<em>Adjust Aspect Ratio to Backdrop<\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em>Adjust Dimensions to Backdrop<\/em>\u201d. Though with the plain color it won&#8217;t change anything too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"214\" height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image12.jpg\" alt=\"daz additional settings\" class=\"wp-image-4002\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Daz3D Backdrop: Using image<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now is the time to do what we planned from the very beginning. We will <strong>use an image as a backdrop<\/strong> instead of the plain single color. For this press the arrow near the color changing options and select \u201c<em>Browse<\/em>\u201d there. Then find the picture that you want on your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"381\" height=\"236\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1.png\" alt=\"daz3d backdrop image\" class=\"wp-image-4003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1.png 381w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-300x186.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 381px) 100vw, 381px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I used the free image that I found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pexels.com\/photo\/road-nature-trees-branches-38537\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pexels.com<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"847\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9.png\" alt=\"daz studio image backdrop\" class=\"wp-image-4005\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9.png 1020w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-300x249.png 300w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-768x638.png 768w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-850x706.png 850w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1020px) 100vw, 1020px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you can go to the additional settings of the Environment tab and press \u201c<em>Adjust Aspect Ratio to Backdrop<\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em>Adjust Dimensions to Backdrop<\/em>\u201d. This will change your render settings so the <strong>aspect ratio and dimensions would suit the backdrop<\/strong>. Sometimes backdrop can be <strong>squeezed or stretched<\/strong> and this will fix the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1021\" height=\"848\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image6.png\" alt=\"daz backdrop aspect ratio\" class=\"wp-image-4007\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image6.png 1021w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image6-300x249.png 300w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image6-768x638.png 768w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image6-850x706.png 850w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1021px) 100vw, 1021px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Now is the <strong>time to make a scene<\/strong> out of it. First of all I have added a character with all its assets such as hair and clothing. And posed them so it would fit a scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1022\" height=\"844\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image8.png\" alt=\"daz3d backdrop scene\" class=\"wp-image-4006\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image8.png 1022w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image8-300x248.png 300w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image8-768x634.png 768w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image8-850x702.png 850w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1022px) 100vw, 1022px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Also it would be a good idea to turn on the \u201c<em>Draw Ground<\/em>\u201d setting in the \u201c<em>Environment<\/em>\u201d of the Render Settings tab. This will <strong>add realism, as if your character is really there<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"506\" height=\"875\" src=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image5.png\" alt=\"daz studio draw ground\" class=\"wp-image-4004\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image5.png 506w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image5-173x300.png 173w, https:\/\/renderguide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image5-300x519.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Now is the time to<strong> set up a proper render<\/strong> by adding lightings, positioning camera, changing its setting and setting up the render settings. There you can find the \u201c*<em>Scapes<\/em>\u201d product series that feature a lot of different backdrops. But it is <strong>inferior in almost any way<\/strong> to the High dynamic range images or <strong>HDRIs<\/strong>. They are easier to use and a lot more flexible. They even can be used as an environmental lighting in addition to the background.
